Thomas Jefferson Model United Nations is a fun, dynamic experience in which students develop skills in diplomacy, critical thinking, problem solving, and cooperation. Students assume the role of representatives of different international organizations, debate and attempt to find viable solutions to problems that affect our world. As a result, students create a greater awareness of global issues by engaging topics concerning security, economic progress, and social development.

This year we would like to emphasize the importance of equality, inclusion, and diversity. We encourage students to be constructive and not critical.  At the end of the model, the best delegates receive an award as a recognition of collaboration, creativity and conflict resolution skills. Delegates leave TJMUN empowered, with the motivation, tools, and knowledge that they can make a difference in the world.

TJMUN is one of the most outstanding models in the region. Every year, we introduce innovative elements that make our model a remarkable experience for every delegate! Students can participate as a delegate representing a country from United Nations and Organization of the American States Committees; an ambassador in a Special Mission Committee. Students who are interested in journalism may participate in Press Corps by representing a worldwide recognised newspaper and writing about committees and the event in general.
